Football FAQ

What level are you?
A:  We are a Bronze level organization which means we meet some of the highest standards in youth sports for the good of our kids and families.

What kinds of requirements?
A:  Our organization is officially enrolled with USA Football, 100 percent of our coaches are certified through their nationally accredited certification, and we've secured league insurance to operate responsibly.  This is what 21st century youth sports look like.

How does this set the tone for other leagues in the area?
A:  Being part of USA Football's League Excellence Program tells families that the entire Northmont We Bolts organization is committed to putting their kids first in everything we do.  The skills kids learn in football are found on the corner of fun and fitness.  That's also where they'll grow physically, socially and mentally within the greatest team sport we know.  This is what 21st century youth sports look like and it's how we play and teach football here.

Do your coaches have to get certified before each season?
A:  Yes.  Our coaches complete USA Football's nationally accredited coach certification before each season.

If you're a USA Football recognized league this season, does it mean you automatically are the following year?
A:  No.  Our league is determined to continue meeting and exceeding these standards to maintain USA Football's recognition.  We're proud to have earned the reputation of being a high-quality program and we're inspired to keep doing it better.

Why is is important to know all of your coaches are certified?
A:  It's very important.  Our kids' parents know that they're not leaving their child with just anyone.  They know our coaches took the time and effort to be trained in proper techniques and teaching so their child has the best and safest football playing experience they can have.  Coaches are teachers and our kids want to get better on the field while they have fun.  Having certified coaches puts that train on the tracks.  No matter what sport you teach, parents need to see how you're dedicated to their children and it starts with coach certification.

2.  As rosters are finalized, coaches will begin contacting participants with next steps for your team.  As soon as that information is established, it will be shared on our Facebook page, posted on www.weebolts.com and provided to coaches for distribution.

3.  Download the GCYC Physical Form.  Have your physical completed by the physician completing the physical.  ALL participants must have a completed physical during the current calendar year to participate.  Please plan to have this taken care of before our first night of conditioning, otherwise your child will not be able to participate until it is completed.  A copy must be submitted to your coach or team representative.

4.  A copy of your players birth certificate is required, per the GCYC.  If you're a returning player, the coach or team representative may have your previous copy.  Please plan to have a copy ready prior to the first night of conditioning to ensure your child can participate.  Please do not submit original copies.

5.  Football Equipment.  Please plan to purchase the following equipment for your football player to prepare for the season:  Shoulder Pads, Girdle, Cleats, Protective Cup.  The Wee Bolts provide the following equipment that is required to be returned at the conclusion of the season:  Helmet, Practice Jersey, Practice Pants (White), Game Pants (Green), Knee Pads.  Players will receive a game jersey that they are permitted to keep following the season.
